Here are 5 steps you can take to begin the process of preparation for mediation
Now, once you do a little homework and soul searching, it becomes exciting because you can start taking those first steps. And after that, I’ll take you through five steps and then five specific strategies that you can use to innovate yourself.
1. Make a plan
The first step you need to take to innovate is to make a plan. Not having a plan almost always leads to failure. I know we sometimes hear stories about people who spontaneously turn to something and achieve great success. And they’re great stories because they don’t happen often. It’s very unlikely, so it’s not something you should rely on.
Along the line of really knowing yourself, planning to innovate yourself requires a thorough and honest assessment of your current financial situation, emotions and mental state. As I mentioned earlier, it is important to be practical and realistic in order to give yourself the best chance of success.
And when you do this plan, keep your goals in mind, but don’t stop to find out every step you take and put them in the right order. If you do, it’s easy to get started. Think of it this way. Instead of following a map, you’re using a compass. You know that you are going the right way, but going the right way does not always mean following a clear path.
2. Imagine success
The second step is to imagine success. Visualizing success is important because what you are doing in the process of visualization is training your subconscious to be aware of the goal you want to achieve. It works because your subconscious constantly reminds you of that goal. And it then trains your brain to respond as if that result were true in the present moment. I know it works because I do it myself.
Understand that it doesn’t have to be a big thing that takes you a ton of time, but you have to do it consistently. I recommend taking five minutes each single day – maybe when you wake up in the morning. It’s not a lot of time, but it does take a good amount of time to set yourself up for success.
3. Set realistic goals
Step three is to set realistic goals. I’ve already touched on this in the example of what I want to be a professional basketball player, so we don’t need to go too deep into it, but what I want to add is that setting realistic goals doesn’t mean you can’t aim high. Please don’t think that I am saying that you have to go from one small thing to another – because it is not to innovate yourself. Just understand that the higher your goal and the higher your goal, the harder you have to work for it.
4. Develop positive habits
The fourth step is to develop positive habits. If you’ve ever been in a really good routine, you know what kind of positive effects it has had on you. When you are in the groove, you want to be in that groove because it is working for you and you are seeing first hand benefits.
I always like to use exercise examples. When you commit yourself to a daily exercise routine, you reach a point where your body desires it – and if you miss a day or two, you really feel it. And it feels like your body is saying to you, “Hey, man, I have to do this thing because it makes me feel good!” This is great when you’re in that routine, but getting into it can be a bit daunting at times. So try to get into any routine that you know you will be able to do consistently.
5. Get started now
Which brings us to the most important part of this whole process. So what I will say is, if you go through all the previous steps – if you make a plan, imagine your success, set realistic goals, create some positive routine, none of this matters unless you Do something for it! Please note that things do not have to be perfect. In fact, thinking too much about perfection is something that will always keep you from taking that first step.
I remember when I was in grad school and I was in this class that I had to write a lot every week. Now, I’m a person who usually has to map everything before I do it – especially if I write something. But I was so stuck trying to make that outline and figure out every detail that I was just going to be kind of frozen and some writing became very difficult. My professor advised me to vomit on the page. Just start writing, it will come to you and you will be able to piece it together. He was right and just started, the most important step.
Use these 5 strategies to reinvent yourself
We’ve now covered five of the basic steps you should take when innovating yourself, then, let’s touch on five specific strategies you can use.
1. Get out of your comfort zone
Strategy number one is to keep your feet out of your comfort zone. If you are planning to make a big change as you innovate, it is important to be open and willing to step out of the security zone you have created for yourself. Hey, it’s really easy to sit where you are and be there, but if you’re ready to innovate yourself, it’s not where you are and what you want to do. If you are going to change things completely, be prepared to be a little uncomfortable. But use all these situations as a learning experience because you never know where you are going to end up.
I started my business just 10 years ago. And before that, I didn’t take pictures all the time, I never talked to the camera, and to be honest, at first it seemed really weird. But I saw it as a challenge and something to do better because to achieve the vision I had, which was to dress the boy as well as possible, to gain more confidence and help them achieve their goals, it was something like that. Which is what I needed to do in the medium I was working on. It wasn’t easy, it was definitely out of my comfort zone, but I kept it, I kept working on it, and I’m glad I did, because having it really helped me create a whole new life for myself.
2. Accept the change
Strategy number two changes are adopted. Change is the only constant in life, isn’t it? Things are always going to change and how you respond to those changes will ultimately determine your outcome. So embrace change and channel that energy into something positive. This is a classic glass half empty, glass half full scenario. Optimism can take you a long way, especially when you are able to turn negative into positive.
3. Change your style
The third way to innovate is to change your style. Hey, you’re innovating yourself – new life, new looks. It doesn’t hurt because if there’s one truth about clothes and your appearance, it’s that it has an incredible power to change about yourself and how people see you. Right? You’ve probably heard it before – dress for the job you want, not the job you have. So when it comes to redesigning yourself, consider some style changes to help you get on the path you want to take.
4. Learn something new
Strategy number four is learning something new. If you really want to rediscover yourself, you need to make some big changes. Don’t go for less that your full potential. It doesn’t work that way because if you do the little things here and there, it will always feel like it’s being felt.
All you have to do is turn things upside down. Try something completely different, something you thought you would never do before. Or, maybe, reconnect with something you liked to do, but you didn’t have the time or you didn’t have the time.
The most important thing is that no matter what you want to do, you enjoy doing it. Rediscovering yourself is a change that will lead to a more positive and happier life with a greater sense of purpose and fulfillment. And if you don’t like what you’re doing, nothing will happen.
5. Don’t be afraid of failure
Strategy number five is not to be afraid of failure – and in fact, be prepared for it. One thing all successful people have in common is that they have failed. And they have probably failed more than once. Now, the sad thing is when you see someone successful, you just see that they are successful. What you don’t see is how many times they have failed to reach that point.
But successful people are not afraid to fail. Failure is an opportunity to learn. A failure is a chance to get a good one. A failure is just another step towards success. When you rediscover yourself, things are going to change, things are going to feel uncomfortable, things are going to be new, and there are going to be some failures along with those things, but if you accept it and use it the way forward, you succeed. Will be
Rediscovering yourself: The bottom line
Although we’ve talked about how to rediscover yourself in your 30’s in this post, the truth is that these steps and strategies can be applied regardless of your age – 30, 40, 50 and beyond. Always remember to be as honest with yourself as possible and have a clear idea of where you want to end up. And, of course, the most important thing you can do is get started. So what are you waiting for ?!
